When drawing and painting, artists typically arrange the subject matter in a specific way to create interest for the viewer. The composition is the way in which the subject matter is arranged. There are rules and guidelines to follow in which we will review in class. We will pair up and discuss and present artwork from art cards to get into this further. You will use this information in the disjointed artwork. See the notes from class below....

Personal Drawing
We discussed in class how to construct a good composition. We looked at examples of different compositions and also talked about how to use personal experience to make a drawing or artwork interesting. You will be dong this in your own way. You will create an artwork that is smaller than 12"x24" based on a personal experience of your own. This is due on January 23rd at the end of class...yes you will need to take it home over the weekend.
