You will be a witness to a complex human event. You may have to look for something with in your community. Here are some examples: a senior citizens brunch, a religious service, a soup kitchen for the homeless, an art class for small children, a dog show, an art museum/show opening or something like that. Get out of the high school mentality, go outside of these walls to be part of an event.
Here are the three basic steps:
1. Attend a "complex human event" and record it by making 20+ quick
sketches and taking photos. Lean more towards making sketches on plain paper then take photos.
2. Create a story-board style narrative draft of 12 images, making
slightly more detailed drawings and compressing, moving, editing images as
needed.
3. final project (this will be in pen and ink +collage in drawing, and
linoleum cut in printmaking): 6 final images that convey all the most
important and exciting aspects of the event, loosely with a beginning, middle,
and end, but doesn't have to be too literal or linear. The look and shape
of the piece does not have to be in a grid either, but can be if that works
well.
So tell me in your own words what that means, in writing!
